Race Season Begins at 1539, Chester Racecourse
Racing season got off to a flying (albeit slightly wet) start last week, with the arrival of the inaugral Boodles May Festival at Chester Racecourse, which welcomed more than 56,000 racegoers over three days. On-course eatery, 1539 Restaurant & Bar was a sell out for the duration of the festival, with guests enjoying panoramic views of the track and winning post, along with an exquisitely designed race day menu.
The culinary offering at 1539 featured dishes such as crayfish fennel salad to begin, pan seared beef fillet for the main event and caramel and apple choux bun for dessert.
New for the season, was their post racing food offering and house DJ set list. Allowing guests to stay on once the last race had been won, keep their table and indulge in delicious food, more drinks and continued celebrations. Or for those in general attendance of the races, places can be allocated post-racing on a first come first served basis.
Guests in the roof lounge and terrace also enjoyed live entertainment from Six15’s talented percussionist, sax player and DJ – who will be performing at the end of each race day of the season - along with a delicious assortment of ‘bowl food’, such as macaroni cheese, chilli con carne and beetroot falafel.
