The three course meal I had at 1539 was fantastic! Food and service were both a very high standard.  Kristi, Chester

Best Large Restaurant 2011

On Wednesday 27th April, at the Chester Food and Drink Awards 2011, 1539 Restaurant & Bar was awarded the Best Large Restaurant accolade for the second consecutive year, and the Silver Award for Best Use of Local Produce. The team were absolutely delighted to win the two awards.  A big thank you to all of our supporters.

Hell's Kitchen

And the winner is....Chester Racecourse Chief Executive Richard Thomas!  On Thursday 21st April 1539 hosted the battle of the pans between Catering Manager and Chief Executive from Chester Racecourse, at Hell's Kitchen.   The restaurant was lit wth oranges and reds, and flamelights lit the red carpet entrance.  Guests were greeted and shown to their seats where the rules of the game were explained and they could choose between the two menu's.  The two leader's were feeling the pressure in the kitchen as they prepared 70 three course meals between them (with a little help from the team).  The scores from the guests were counted and verified, and the Chief Exec was victorious.  It was a very close match, and they both put up a really good fight!  A great evening was had by all.  Re-match next year I think!!!
